NEW: Paid Family Leave
At American Water, weCARE about our employees’ overall well-being and that of their families. We recently announced, effective January 1, 2023, that our Paid Family Leave benefit will increase to six weeks for our nonunion-represented employees. Paid Family Leave offers eligible employees time away from work to spend with their families in connection with particular life events, including:
- Bonding with a new child.
- Caring for a sick or injured family member.
- Making arrangements for a family member deploying for military duty.
- Providing care to a Military family member.

BENEFITS & WELLBEING
All employees who average 30 hours or more per week receive benefits, and full-time employees pay only 16% of the total cost of medical, dental and vision. We offer our non-union employees averaging 20 to 30 hours per week medical, dental and vision coverage at 50% of the total cost.
